Let me summarize here a range of sinus infection home remedies, old folk remedies and the perhaps the best natural herbal cures for sinus infection. Inflammation of the sinuses, sinus infection, sinus congestion, sinus pain, sinus pressure and blocked sinuses are common and often recurring problem for some people. Mother nature provides us many natural solutions to combat this annoying condition.
One of the best and may be the most simple natural cure for sinus infection is the old folk medicine:
How to use apple cider vinegar for sinus infection?
For acut sinus conditions to obtain instant relief: mix 1-2 tablespoons Apple Cider Vinegar in a big glass of water and gulp the mixture at once. Use it 3 times a day for 2-3 days. Improvement occurs often in 1 hour, latest in 1 day. If you don't notice any ease after 2 days, stop taking the remedy.
For chronic sinus conditions use diluted Apple Cider Vinegar long term. Mix 2 teaspoons of organic Apple Cider Vinegar in 500 ml water and sip during the day. Apple Cider Vinegar has many beneficial health effects - feel free to use it for several months.
Perhaps the best is organic, raw, unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar with the 'mother'.
Another simple possibility is opening the Apple Cider Vinegar bottle and just inhaleing - through your nose - the vapour coming out of it. Vinegar vapour is able to open up the sinus passages immediately. Don't overuse it, the acidic vapour may damage the mucus membrane.
Most of the people desire warm onto the congested sinus area. You may use a hot-water bottle, an infrared lamp, a warm flannel or simple blow warm air from a hair-drier.

Time-proved decongestant herbal recipes are great sinus infection home remedies.
You can sip a decongestant herbal tea at any time of the day. May be the best choice is Elderflower (Sambucus nigra) and Camomile (Matricaria recutita) herbal tea with a pinch of powdered cayenne pepper. How to make a herbal tea? Pour a cup of boiling water onto 2 teaspoonfuls of the dried elder and camomile blossoms, leave to infuse for 10 minutes. Strain and drink hot with some cayenne pepper 3 times a day.
Let me suggest a few other anti-inflammatory and anti-catarrhal herbs, which have synergistic effect, if used together! Mix following herbs in equal amount e.g. one tablespoon each:
Take 2 teaspoonfuls of the herbal mixture and pour 250ml boiling water onto them. Steep for 10-15 minutes, strain and drink hot 3 cups a day. You can add a pinch of goldenseal or bayberry powder to the tea.
If you want your tea more effective make an extra decoction of willow bark and ivy wood and add it to the herbal tea. Put 1 tsp willow bark and 1 tsp ivy wood into 250ml water. Boil and simmer for 10 minutes and strain. Add to the herbal tea and drink 1 cup three times a day before meals. Use for 5-6 days, not longer!
CAUTION: If you are allergic to salicylates you MUST not take willow! Willow bark contains salicin, the natural form of aspirin.
Usually herbal teas are not enough to cure a sinusitis, but they are a good complementary treatment. They are good compagnons to other sinus remedies such as homeopathy or compresses different kind. Read about homeopathy for sinus infection...
