Well Proved Homeopathic Treatment for Sinus Problems
In our homeopathic treasure we have a few time-proved homeopathic remedies which are extremely effective to cure both acute and chronic sinusitis. However, if you have frequent recurrent attacks of sinusitis it is better to consult a homeopath and having a constitutional treatment. A well selected constitutional homeopathic remedy is able to prevent as well as to cure sinus infection. Homeopathy is an excellent sinus cure.
CAUTION: Homeopathy is not compatible with some aromatherapy oils, like eucalyptus or peppermint, since they counteract the homeopathic remedies. If you use those aromatic oils in the treatment of your sinusitis, it has no sense to take homeopathic remedies. If you decide to treat your sinus infection with homeopathy, please don't use eucalyptus or peppermint oil at the same time. Let's see now my highly appreciated sinus homeopathic remedies:
KALI BICHROMICUM (Potassium bichromate) is a very useful sinus remedy, if you have a small amount of sticky, thick discharge impossible to blow out. The catarrh may be dry and forms sticky crusts in the nostrils which are hard to pick out. The postnasal drip of the catarrh accumulates overnight and is difficult to hawk out in the morning. The stringy, crusty, sticky mucus can block the nose entirely. Sinus pain or pressure is located in a small spot but may extend to the whole head if sinus congestion is severe. You are very chilly, symptoms worse for cold.
HYDRASTIS (Hydrastis canadensis, goldenseal) symptoms are just the opposite to Kali bichromicum. There is such a huge amount of white or yellow discharge, you just can't stop blowing the nose. Discharge may be constant and can be acrid and excoriating, causing raw wounds around the nose. You tend to blow nose all the time. The thick, tenacious catarrh drips down the back of the throat. Dull, pressing frontal sinus headache is better for pressure, when pushing forehead with your hand. Better for outside, worse for warm rooms.
CINNABARIS (Red sulphide of mercury) The most characteristic feature if, you need Cinnabaris is a heavy pressure at root of nose, like the pressure of glasses. Just like the feeling of sinus pressure. There is a constant fullness and sinus congestion in the forehead or face, pain worse during night. Discharge is acrid, foul, burning and might contain dark lumps. The stringy mucus may accumulate and drip post nasal into the throat.
HEPAR SULPHURIS (calcium sulphide) When you need the remedy Hepar sulphuris, you must be oversensitive to cold, extremely chilly, least drought makes the symptoms worse. Your mood should be oversensitive as well, very irritable. Discharge is much, yellow or greenish, thick, pus-like, smells sometimes like old cheese. The pressing, stitching sinus pain in your forehead, root of nose and face is better for warmth.
I suggest to take the chosen remedy in potency C12 two times a day for 3-4 days. If the sinus remedy was correct you must notice marked improvement during this time. If not, stop the remedy. If you experience amelioration, you may continue the sinus cure and take the homeopathic remedy for one week.
In addition to all kind of sinus treatment you can take immune boosting supplements which strengthen the immune system in general, such as follows:
Just find out which immune boosting supplement suits you and helps your sinus infection the most. You may combine two of them, but not more.
For those who are susceptible to sinusitis the following prevention guidelines are highly recommended. My suggestions prevent mucus membrane of swelling and producing excessive mucus. As a result of that you can prevent a new outbreak of sinus infection. Best sinus cure is prevention!
MOISTURIZE the AIR: Run a humidifier with saline solution in your bedroom at night to keep your nasal and sinus passages from drying out. Clean the humidifier once a week so that mildew and fungi can't proliferate.
CHANGE heater, air conditioner FILTERS at home and in your car REGULARLY!
STAY AWAY from SMOKE-filled rooms: Cigarette smoke dries out nasal passages and bacteria get trapped in the sinuses causing sinus infection.
AVOID swimming in a CHLORINATED POOL and never DIVE: Chlorine irritates the lining of the nose and sinuses. Diving forces water from nasal passages up into sinuses. Both promote sinus problems.
CUT DOWN on your consumption of ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES: Alcohol causes swelling of nasal and sinus membranes which may lead to sinus congestion.
DO NOT eat ICE-CREAM and CUT OUT cow's MILK: consumption of ice-cream (which is loaded with artificial colorings, aromas etc.) is often followed by a sinusitis next day in certain people. Dairy products promote mucus formation. Some people tolerate goat's and sheep's milk products better.
BE AWARE, that some people get sinusitis and sinus infection from regular consumption of ORANGE JUICE.
DRINK plenty of WARM LIQUIDS: peppermint (Mentha piperita) or oregano (Origanum vulgare) tea, vegetable or chicken soup with a clove of chopped raw garlic.
EAT regularly a few cloves of finely diced GARLIC, freshly grated HORSERADISH, pungent spices like CAYENNE pepper or CHILI PEPPERS, MUSTARD or GINGER and drink lot of PINEAPPLE JUICE.
For sinus relief DO regularly saline NASAL IRRIGATION...
I hope you found my little collection of sinus cures useful and you found finally the home cure which delivers an all natural sinus relief.
